Overview
Our 3-day Uganda Gorilla Habituation tour is the best short-time gorilla safari in Uganda that gives you a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet the rare Mountain gorillas in their habitat, the forest of Bwindi and spend four hours with them.
During the mountain gorilla habituation experience, you will have a long encounter with the mountain gorillas on their daily routine in the forest, starting from where they slept the night before to where they will make a nest for that day overnight.
This gorilla habituation tour is open to any date throughout the year and depending on availability we will book your trek in Nkuringo, this tour can also be tailored to best fit your budget and interests ranging from accommodation requirements, transport, and meals throughout the tour.
Detailed Itinerary
You will be picked up by our safari guide from either a guest house/Lodge in Entebbe or Kampala if you arrive a day before or from Entebbe International Airport if you arrive in the very early morning hours, then drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in South Western Uganda where you will spend two nights.
This journey is about a 9-10 hour drive but very enjoyable as you will have a scenic drive through various local communities and towns along the road, the drive also takes you through the beautiful cascading and rolling hills of the Kigezi region.
You will also have an opportunity to cross the equator where you will have an en-route stopover for photography and equator experience then you will drive to Mbarara for en-route lunch after proceeding to Bwindi Impenetrable forest for overnight.
Accommodation: Rushaga Gorilla Havens Lodge or Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge.

Meal Plan: Full Board.
Drive time: 8-9 hours’ drive.
After early morning breakfast, you will drive to the Park headquarters for registration and join others for a gorilla habituation briefing about the dos and don’ts during your Uganda Gorilla Habituation Tour.
The trek through the tropical rainforest of Bwindi follows the briefing exercise and with your ranger guides to find the Gorillas, which can take you from half an hour to three-quarters of the day.
During your trek, you will have a chance to encounter other wildlife including, various bird species and tree species which your guide which give you information about to make the trek enjoyable.
Once you find them you will spend four hours with them. You will be awarded a certificate for participating in gorilla habituation and thus contributing to the conservation of mountain gorillas.

Drive back to Entebbe/Kampala to end the tour.
After your breakfast, you will be driven to Kampala or Entebbe for your post-tour accommodation or you may choose to fly out of Uganda today.
You will drive along the route as to when you came through.
Meal Plan: Half Board.
Drive time: 8-9 hours’ drive.
