Overview

This 3 Day Uganda Gorilla trekking tour is the best short-time gorilla safari in Uganda that gives you a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet the rare Mountain gorillas in their habitat.

This tour will take you through the central and southern parts of Uganda giving you a chance to drive through the traditional towns of Uganda, cross the Equator line twice, and meet the local communities of Uganda along the way to the misty, magical tropical rain forests of Bwindi impenetrable National park.

You will have a chance to trek and encounter the magnificent mountain gorillas, the gentle giants roaming in their habitat, and the forests of Bwindi.

you will spend one hour observing them once you find them.

This tour is open to any date throughout the year and depending on availability, we will book for you your trek in either the Buhoma, Nkuringo, Rushaga, or Ruhija sectors of Bwindi, as well this tour can also be tailored to best fit your budget and interests ranging from accommodation requirements, transport, and meals throughout the tour.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1

Entebbe

You will be picked up by your safari guide from a hotel either in Entebbe or Kampala if you arrive a day before or from Entebbe International Airport if you arrive in the very early morning hours, then drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in South Western Uganda where you will spend two nights.

This journey is about an 8-9 hours drive but delightful as you will be driving through various local communities and towns along the road, the drive as well takes you through the lush cascading and rolling hills of the Kigezi region.

You will also have an opportunity to cross the equator where you will have an en-route stopover for photography and equator experience.

You will stop at Mbarara for en-route lunch after proceeding to Bwindi Impenetrable forest for overnight.

Accommodation: Rushaga Gorilla Havens Lodge or Trekkers Tavern Cottages.

Accommodation Type: Mid-range but open to upgrade

Meal Plan: Full Board.

Drive time: 8-9 hours’ drive.

Day 2

Gorilla tracking day

After early breakfast, you will drive to the Park headquarters for registration and join other tourists for a gorilla trekking briefing.

You will be told about the dos and don’ts during Gorilla Trekking. Once this is done, you will trek through the tropical rainforest of Bwindi with your ranger guides to find the mountain Gorillas.

Gorilla trekking can take you from half an hour to three-quarters of the day. During your trek, you might have a chance to encounter other wildlife including, Olive baboons, various bird species, and tree species which your guide which give you information about to make the trek enjoyable.

You will be awarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking and thus contributing to the conservation of mountain gorillas.

Meal Plan: Full Board/ with packed Lunch

Day 3

Drive back to Entebbe/Kampala to end the tour

After your breakfast, you will be driven to Kampala or Entebbe for your post-tour accommodation or your outbound flight.

You will use the same Uganda Gorilla Trekking tour route as when you came through.

Meal Plan: Half Board.

Drive time: 8-9 hours’ drive.
