Overview
The 4 Days Uganda Double Gorilla tracking tour is a gorilla safari in Uganda that gives you a lifetime opportunity to track and meet the rare Mountain gorillas twice on one tour in their habitat.
This tour will take you through the central and southern parts of Uganda giving you a chance as well to drive through the traditional towns of Uganda, crossing the Equator line twice and meeting the local communities of Uganda along the way through the beautiful rolling hills of Kigezi region to misty, magical tropical rain forests of Bwindi National park where you will have a chance to track and encounter the magnificent mountain gorillas two times in their habitat the forest of Bwindi you will spend one hour on each trek with them once you find them.
This tour is open to any dates throughout the year and depending on availability we will book for you your trek in either Buhoma, Nkuringo, Rushaga or Ruhija, as well this tour can be tailor to best fit in your budget and interests ranging from accommodation requirements, transport and meals throughout the tour.
Detailed Itinerary
You will be picked up by our safari guide from either a guest house/Lodge in Entebbe or Kampala if you arrive a day before or from Entebbe International Airport if you arrive in the very early morning hours, then drive to Bwindi Impenetrable forest National park in South Western Uganda where you will spend two nights. This journey is about 8-9 hours’ drive but very enjoyable as you will be driving through various local communities and towns along the road, the drive as well takes you through the beautiful cascading and rolling hills of Kigezi region. You will as well have an opportunity to cross the equator where you will have an en-route stopover for photography and equator experience then you will drive to Mbarara for en-route lunch after proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable forest for overnight.
Accommodation: Rushaga Gorilla Havens Lodge or Trekkers Tavern Cottages.
Accommodation type: Low Mid-range/High Budget but open to upgrade
Meal Plan: Full Board.
Drive time: 8-9 hours’ drive.
After early morning breakfast, you will drive to the Park headquarters for registration and joining others for a gorilla trekking briefing about the dos and the don’ts during your Uganda Gorilla Trekking Tour. Once this is done, you will trek through the tropical rain forest of Bwindi your ranger guides to find the Gorillas, which can take you from half an hour to three-quarters of the day.
During your trek, you will have a chance to encounter other wildlife including, various bird species and tree species which your guide which give you information about to make the trek enjoyable. This is indeed an extraordinary feeling being with these beautiful endangered Creatures. You will be awarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking and thus contributing to the conservation of mountain gorillas.
