This tour will take you through the central and southern parts of Uganda giving you a chance as well to drive through the traditional towns of Uganda, cross the Equator line twice, and meet the local communities of Uganda along the way to misty, magical tropical rain forests of Bwindi National park where you will have a chance to track and encounter the magnificent mountain gorillas the gentle giants roaming in their habitat the forests of Bwindi you will spend one hour with them once you find them from Bwindi you will visit Mgahinga Gorilla National park for Golden monkey tracking experience.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1

Start of the 4-day Uganda Gorilla trekking tour

The 4-day Uganda Gorilla trekking will start with a transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in South Western Uganda where you will spend two nights.

The journey entails an 8-9 hour drive punctuated by a scenic route through various local communities and towns, offering picturesque views of the cascading and rolling hills of the Kigezi region. A significant highlight of the journey includes a crossing of the equator, providing an opportunity for an en-route stopover to capture photographic moments and partake in the equator experience. Subsequently, a detour to Mbarara for a mid-journey repast precedes the final leg of the trip to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest for overnight accommodations.

Day 2

Gorilla trekking and transfer to Mgahinga National Park.

After partaking in an early morning breakfast, you will proceed to the park headquarters for registration. Subsequently, you will engage in a comprehensive gorilla trekking briefing, elucidating the appropriate conduct and regulations pertinent to your 4-day Uganda Gorilla Trekking Tour. Following this briefing, you will embark on a trek through the lush tropical rainforest of Bwindi in the company of experienced ranger guides in pursuit of encountering the gorillas, a pursuit which may span from one to several hours. This immersive trek offers opportunities to encounter diverse wildlife species, including avian and arboreal varieties, with your guide providing insights to enhance the trekking experience. Upon locating the gorillas, an allocation of up to 1 hour is dedicated to observing the silverback along with its family unit. To commemorate your participation in the gorilla trekking endeavor, a certificate will be awarded, culminating this compelling activity.

Day 3

Golden Monkey Trekking in Mgahinga.

After partaking in an early morning meal, you will proceed to the Park headquarters to complete the registration process and convene with other participants for a comprehensive briefing on the intricacies of the Uganda Golden Monkey Trekking Tour. Subsequently, you will embark on a trek through the montane rain forest of Mgahinga Mountain accompanied by experienced ranger guides in pursuit of the elusive Golden Monkeys. The duration of the trek can range from half an hour to three-quarters of a day. While traversing the terrain, it is conceivable that you may encounter diverse avian and arboreal species, and your knowledgeable guide will offer pertinent insights to enrich your excursion. Upon conclusion of the trek, transportation will be provided back to the lodge where you can unwind and spend the night.

Day 4

Transfer to Entebbe/Kampala and end of the 4-day Uganda gorilla trekking tour.

Following breakfast, you will be transported to either Kampala or Entebbe for your post-tour accommodation, or you may opt to depart from Uganda today. The travel route for the 4-day Uganda Gorilla Trekking Tour will be the same as the one taken upon your arrival.

Drive time: 9-10 hours’ drive.
