Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
Begin your 5-day Uganda gorilla trekking and rafting Safari with a morning departure from Kampala, meeting your expert guide en route. Embark on a scenic 8-9 hour drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, with stops at the Equator for a photo opportunity and lunch in Mbarara. Upon arrival, check in at Rushaga Gorilla Havens Lodge or Trekkers Tavern Cottages for an overnight stay.
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest Overview
Bwindi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of the few remaining large expanses of tropical rainforest in East Africa. This breathtaking park boasts an incredible array of flora and fauna, including:
– 120 mammal species
– 345 bird species
– 200 butterfly species
– 160 tree species
– Almost half of the world’s endangered Mountain Gorilla population
The forest’s unique geography, with lowland and montane habitats merging, creates a dense ground cover of herbs, vines, and shrubs.
Day 2: Gorilla Tracking Experience
After breakfast, transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park Headquarters to meet your experienced guides for the day. Begin your gorilla trekking adventure, accompanied by expert trackers, into the dense rainforest on the mountain slopes. The trek may be fairly strenuous, lasting up to 6 hours or longer, with steep climbs and high altitudes.
Your reward is a once-in-a-lifetime experience: observing majestic mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Get within meters of these incredible creatures, sharing their daily lives and experiencing their day-to-day activities. With only an estimated 880 mountain gorillas remaining in the wild, this is an unforgettable experience.

Overnight at Rushaga Gorilla Havens Lodge or Trekkers Tavern Cottages.
Day 3: Transfer From Bwindi to Kampala
After breakfast, transfer back to Kampala (8-9 hours), with stops at Mbarara for lunch and the Equator line for a coffee break, arriving in the evening. Check-in at Fairway Hotel & Spa or Forest Cottages for an overnight stay.
Day 4: Kampala to Jinja (white Water Rafting)
Drive to Jinja (2-3 hours) through Mabira Forest, Experience a full-day white water rafting adventure on the Nile River, navigating Grade 3-5 rapids.
Enjoy breathtaking scenery and potential wildlife sightings, guided by expert and friendly river guides.
Overnight at Adrift River Club.
Day 5: Departure
After breakfast, transfer to Entebbe International Airport (approximately 2-3 hours) for your departure flight, marking the end of your Uganda adventure.
