Are you a coffee lover and interested in learning about coffee-making from the source? If so, we invite you to join us on a one-day coffee origin and coffee-making experience tour that complements the amazing gorilla tracking experience at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Whether you choose to go on the tour before or after the gorilla tracking experience, you will have the chance to spend part of the day with small-scale coffee farmers near Butogota town council and Mpanga, located in the Kanungu district in southwestern Uganda.
During the tour, you will gain a wealth of knowledge and skills on how to make coffee directly from the farm. You will learn about the process from the seedling stage to the cup, from propagating coffee seedlings in the nursery bed to transplanting them in the main garden and through the harvest of coffee cherries – all in a real farming environment.
In addition, you will have the opportunity to take part in picking, pounding, roasting, grinding, and drinking coffee like a real farmer. The skills and knowledge you will acquire will bring a new appreciation to your coffee-drinking habits.
By joining us on this tour, you will also be actively contributing to the conservation efforts of the mountain gorillas. The proceeds generated from the tour help reduce the pressures the local communities put on the forest of Bwindi by providing them with an alternative income source.
Butogota township is located approximately 15 kilometers from Bwindi impenetrable National Park’s Buhoma sector while Mpanga is approximately 25 kilometers from Buhoma.
After the coffee tour, you will have the exclusive opportunity to purchase coffee beans or ground coffee from our local partners. The tour ends with a picnic lunch and a coffee-sipping experience, leaving you with unforgettable memories and newfound knowledge of coffee-making.
Don’t miss out on this unique, immersive experience that will take your love for coffee to a whole new level!
